William H. Conklin, Board Chairman
Mr. Conklin comes to SolarAmp with over thirty years of development
and sales experience with IBM in positions including Director, General
Manager and Vice President. His development experience ranges from managing
over a thousand-person business with a billion dollars in revenues to
managing internal startups. Mr. Conklins forte is
business, product and market development. In late 1993, when IBM and
China agreed to jointly focus on the application of technology to key
Chinese requirements, Bill was asked to go to Beijing. He led one of
those efforts and spent over two years in China. Based on this success,
IBM sent Mr. Conklin to ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations)
to focus on similar projects across ten countries including India, Indonesia,
Vietnam and Singapore. Bill retired from IBM at the completion of this
effort on January 1, 2000.
Dan Richards, Board Secretary
Mr. Richards retired from the IBM Corporation where he enjoyed a
very successful career, which spanned management and executive positions
in sales, marketing and product development. Currently, he is Director
of Global Business Development for Impact Systems focusing on consulting
and product development of document and record management systems. Dan
brings a wealth of experience to the SolarAmp Board in managing very
large complex technical projects that include development efforts located
both nationally and internationally. During his career, he managed a
200-300 person software development organization locally with development
efforts in France, Taiwan and Australia along with third party companies.
Not only was he responsible for the development of these products but
also for their pricing, marketing, and customer acceptance. Although
he is not as knowledgeable in solar technology, Dan does bring to the
table a wealth of experience in business and technical management.
Dr. Jonathan S. Lindsey
Dr. Lindsey is the research leader for SolarAmp. His distinguished
academic and research career spans over sixteen years from The Rockefeller
University and Carnegie Mellon University to North Carolina State University.
He received the 1998-1999 Alumni Outstanding Research Award, NC State
University. Dr. Lindsey is a leader in the field of chemistry with significant
applicable publications, research collaborations and over a hundred
worldwide invited lectures.
John D. Hunter
Mr. Hunter has 34+ years of experience in high technology, executive
management, business development and corporate/advisory board memberships.
His experience ranges from large 600-700 person development labs to
startup engineering companies to successful turnaround efforts leading
to Initial Public Offerings. Presently, John is President and CEO of
FDH, Inc, an engineering company specializing in non-destructive testing
utilizing advanced dispersive wave propagation technology. Prior to
joining FDH, he was an independent consultant with Do Diligence Partners
working with venture capitalists, investment bankers, merger and acquisition
firms, and technology companies to provide unbiased due diligence and
professional services to permit informed investment decisions. Before
this focus, he spent 24 years with IBM and 8 years with Landmark Systems.
John is presently a board member of FDH, Inc., FDH Engineering, Inc.
and Maggpie Communications as well as on the advisory board of Softricity
and Internet Advisory Resource Network.
