William H. Conklin, Board Chairman
Mr. Conklin comes to SolarAmp with over thirty years of development and sales experience with IBM in positions including Director, General Manager and Vice President. His development experience ranges from managing over a thousand-person business with a billion dollars in revenues to managing internal “startups.” Mr. Conklin’s forte is business, product and market development. In late 1993, when IBM and China agreed to jointly focus on the application of technology to key Chinese requirements, Bill was asked to go to Beijing. He led one of those efforts and spent over two years in China. Based on this success, IBM sent Mr. Conklin to ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) to focus on similar projects across ten countries including India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore. Bill retired from IBM at the completion of this effort on January 1, 2000.

Dan Richards, Board Secretary
Mr. Richards retired from the IBM Corporation where he enjoyed a very successful career, which spanned management and executive positions in sales, marketing and product development. Currently, he is Director of Global Business Development for Impact Systems focusing on consulting and product development of document and record management systems. Dan brings a wealth of experience to the SolarAmp Board in managing very large complex technical projects that include development efforts located both nationally and internationally. During his career, he managed a 200-300 person software development organization locally with development efforts in France, Taiwan and Australia along with third party companies. Not only was he responsible for the development of these products but also for their pricing, marketing, and customer acceptance. Although he is not as knowledgeable in solar technology, Dan does bring to the table a wealth of experience in business and technical management.

His distinguished academic and research career spans over sixteen years from The Rockefeller University and Carnegie Mellon University to North Carolina State University.
